These two lines, which at first seem simple, carry profound weight. True friendship undergoes many tests, not the least of which is the test of time. Who hasn't been disappointed by a friend in their life? It only makes those who prove to be real friends all the more treasured. It does take effort and lots of communication, but investing yourself in a real friendship is worth it.
